After the thrills and spills of Cookham Dean’s annual Gravity Grand Prix day event, we’ll be heading to Uncle Tom’s Cabin for the after-party and an evening of fantastic live music.
Performing on the outdoor stage will be Funkin Souled Out, an eight-piece funk, soul and disco band based in and around Maidenhead. The band has been playing together for nearly 7 years, building a loyal following of self-proclaimed “funksters” along the way. They have performed at CarFest, headlined Wokingham Festival, Readipop and GloFest, appeared at major London venues and played countless weddings, parties and corporate events.
We also have an extra reason to support them, as one of the band members is our very own Date in the Diary member, Katie!
Expect a brilliant set packed with dance-floor favourites from Chic, the Bee Gees, Donna Summer, Jamiroquai, Sister Sledge, Aretha Franklin, The Jacksons, Curtis Mayfield, James Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire and many more.
The band will be performing outside beneath a covered stretch tent. It is likely to be busy following the Gravity Grand Prix, but the atmosphere should be lively, friendly and lots of fun.
Come along, catch up with friends, grab a drink from the bar and enjoy a fun evening of live music. It’s the perfect opportunity to let your hair down, have a dance and do something a little different on a Sunday evening.
Please note: This is expected to be a popular and busy event. The performance is outdoors, although the stage and some of the audience area will be beneath a covered stretch tent.
