Join us for an easy and picturesque circular walk around Virginia Water Lake, within the beautiful surroundings of Windsor Great Park.
We’ll meet at the Virginia Water car park, GU25 4QF (be forewarned parking here is a little punchy, but it’s worth it!), before setting off on the circular lakeside route. The walk is approximately 5¼ miles / 8.5km and should take around two hours at a comfortable group pace. The route follows mainly tarmac or smooth, compacted paths.
Along the way, we’ll enjoy lovely views across the lake and its tree-lined shores. Highlights include the 30-foot Cascade, the fascinating Leptis Magna Roman ruins, the Five-Arch Bridge and the Totem Pole, as well as plenty of opportunities to spot birds and other wildlife.
After completing the circuit, we’ll return to the Virginia Water Café at the Pavilion for refreshments. Dogs are very welcome but must be kept under control and on a lead where required. The café has a dog-friendly terrace for refreshments after the walk.”
