Dinner Dates by Date in the Diary

Dinner Dates is a curated social introduction service. Matching is based solely on the information provided by participants together with the experience and judgement of the Date in the Diary team. Compatibility, chemistry and conversation can never be guaranteed and no warranty is given that participants will form friendships, relationships or enjoy the company of every person at their table.

Terms & Conditions

1. About Dinner Dates

Dinner Dates is a service operated by Date in the Diary Ltd. Although created by the team behind Date in the Diary, Dinner Dates is a separate service and is open to both members and non-members of the Date in the Diary social club.

Dinner Dates is intended exclusively for people who are genuinely single and available to meet other single people. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is true and accurate, including your relationship status. Date in the Diary Ltd relies on participants being honest and does not independently verify or investigate relationship status.

By registering for Dinner Dates, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Registration

Completing the registration form allows us to consider you for future Dinner Dates.

Submitting a registration form does not guarantee that you will receive an invitation to a dinner, nor does it guarantee when an invitation may be offered. Invitations are entirely dependent on our ability to create suitable groups based on the information provided by registrants.

3. How We Match People

Unlike many services, Dinner Dates does not use computer algorithms.

Every dinner table is personally curated by the Date in the Diary team using the information you provide on your registration form. We consider factors such as personality, interests, conversation style, life stage, location and availability to create what we believe will be an enjoyable and balanced group.

Whilst every effort is made to create compatible dinner groups, compatibility is subjective and we cannot guarantee that every participant will get on with every other guest or that everyone will enjoy the same experience.

By registering, you acknowledge that Dinner Dates is an introduction service and that no guarantee is made regarding compatibility, friendships, romantic connections or future relationships.

4. Invitations & Payment

If we create a dinner table we believe is suitable for you, we will send you an invitation by email and WhatsApp.

Your invitation will include a secure payment link (via SumUp).

To confirm your place you must:

Accept the invitation
Complete payment within 24 hours

If payment is not received within 24 hours, your place may be offered to another participant without further notice.

Invitations are personal and cannot be transferred to another person.

The £20 payment is the Dinner Dates matching and administration fee.

Food, drinks and any restaurant service charges are payable directly to the venue by attendees unless otherwise stated.

Date in the Diary Ltd is not responsible for:

food quality
service
restaurant pricing
menu changes
allergens
delays
venue closures

If a restaurant cancels unexpectedly, you reserve the right to change venue or rearrange the dinner.

5. Cancellations & Refunds

Once payment has been made, your place is reserved specifically for you.

If you are unable to attend, you must notify us in writing as soon as possible.

As places are limited and matched carefully, booking fees are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or at the discretion of Date in the Diary Ltd.

Failure to attend without notifying us (a “no-show”), or repeated late cancellations, may result in your registration being suspended or removed from future Dinner Dates.

6. Attendance

Dinner Dates relies on every guest attending.

Late cancellations and no-shows have a significant impact on the experience of the other diners.

We therefore ask that you only accept invitations when you are confident you can attend.

7. Behaviour & Etiquette

We want Dinner Dates to be welcoming, inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.

All participants are expected to treat fellow diners, restaurant staff and the Date in the Diary team with courtesy and respect.

The following will not be tolerated:

Abusive or threatening behaviour
Harassment or unwanted advances
Racist, sexist, discriminatory or offensive language or behaviour
Excessive intoxication that negatively affects the group
Any behaviour that makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe

Date in the Diary Ltd reserves the right to remove anyone from Dinner Dates and decline future invitations where behaviour falls below these standards.

8. Personal Safety

Dinner Dates is an introduction service.

Although every effort is made to organise enjoyable group dinners, participants attend entirely at their own discretion and risk.

Participants are responsible for making their own decisions about sharing personal information, exchanging contact details or arranging to meet other attendees after the event.

If you choose to meet another participant outside of an organised Dinner Date, this is entirely your own decision and responsibility.

Date in the Diary Ltd accepts no responsibility or liability for relationships, friendships, meetings or arrangements made between participants outside the organised event.

If another participant behaves inappropriately before, during or after a Dinner Date, we encourage you to report this to us immediately.
