Join North Downs Way Ambassador Pete Lambert (of DG Outdoors Adventures) as he guides you on this incredibly scenic and hilly 6 mile circular walk through the Tillingbourne Valley.
You will see some amazing views and explore the history of the area which will take us through the Chantries, St. Martha’s and Chilworth Gunpowder Mills. This is one of our very favourite hikes and it has a little bit of everything with views, woodland, rivers, lakes and history.
Bring with you suitable hiking clothes, fluids to drink and some snacks for energy. You are more than welcome to bring a packed lunch for when we reach St. Martha’s.
The hike has 2 climbs which although quite short are steep but you will go at the pace of the group and take regular pitstops. The walk will take approx 3 hours. Hopefully the weather will be kind and the group can finish at the Percy Arms for a well deserved drink and some amazing food if you wish.
Some additional information:
The walk will commence at 0930 prompt so allow enough time, don’t be wait or the group will leave without you.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.
The Percy Arms is based opposite Chilworth Train Station but please check timetables if travelling by train as at the weekend they don’t run very regularly.
If parking please park in the street as the Percy Arms car park is for patrons only.
