Join us for a gorgeous Date in the Diary walk as we set out from Nettlebed and head deep into the rolling Chiltern Hills. This scenic route includes a couple of steady climbs (around 675 ft total) and rewards us with sweeping beech woods, early snowdrops, and glimpses of the area’s brick- and pottery-making heritage.
We’ll pause at the wonderfully romantic church ruins in Bix Bottom — a perfect moment to take in the quiet beauty of the valley — and, if time allows, there may even be a chance to see some of John Piper’s stunning stained-glass windows nearby.
Expect some muddy woodland paths and rough tracks, but plenty of fresh air, conversation, and shared discovery along the way.
After the walk, anyone who’d like to continue the day can join us back in Nettlebed for refreshments or lunch at the Cheese Shed (Nettlebed Creamery) or the White Hart Inn.
A lovely mix of nature, history, and good company — one for the diary.
