Date in the Diary joining terms and conditions (last updated 02/11/24)
When joining Date in the Diary as a member you agree to the following:
Date in the Diary Ltd is a singles events company, with the primary objective to facilitate introductions of single people (members) during in-person social events and activities. We will not share any personal details with any members.
During the joining process, prospective members are requested to provide additional information which builds a personal profile. Date in the Diary Ltd does not verify this information, nor take responsibility for its accuracy. We ask you to be honest. We advise and encourage you to validate information provided by other guests through personal means.
Date in the Diary Ltd advises you that if you choose to exchange personal details with other members or joining other whatsapp groups set up by members or guests of Date in the Diary Ltd so advise acting with caution, as you would when meeting new people in any other social setting or dating experience. Date in the Diary Ltd accept no responsibility for any personal issues that occur through the Date in the Diary membership network. Date in the Diary Ltd takes no responsibility for any emotional distress or physical harm that may arise from interactions with other guests, before, during or after any of our events, without limitation.
Date in the Diary Ltd will not share any of your personal information without your express permission unless the law requires us to do so. Further details of how we handle your data can be found in our Privacy Policy.
When purchasing a ticket to any Date in the Diary event, you confirm and accept all terms and conditions outlined in these T&Cs. When purchasing tickets on behalf of other guests, you are confirming they are single and their acceptance of the same.
In the event of a venue, date change or an event being cancelled we will provide as much notice as possible using contact information provided (typically Whatsapp). Any new venues will be within a reasonable distance to the original venue. Any date changes, you will have the offer to move your booking to the new date if this is agreeable with you. And in the event of cancellation, a credit will be offered to the value of the original booking if you are unable to attend the revised event.
Please note refunds will not be issued in cases of venue changes, date changes or cancellations.
If a change in circumstances prevents you from attending an event you have booked, you may move your booking to another event to the same value but ONLY when requests are received in writing 48-hours prior to the original event. If the event uses a third party, it may not be possible to change your booking, or offer a credit note, this will depend on the cancellation policy for this particular event. Your host will look into each individual case and let you know.
Date in the Diary often use third parties in association with offering you experiences and activities as advertised on their site. If you buy a ticket through us for one of these events, your name, mobile and email address may be passed onto the related third party. You may be contacted directly or as a follow up from Date in the Diary and asked for further details or to complete other paperwork or waivers, which you will be required to do in the time advised. Please note, failure to follow these instructions may result in you not being able to participate in the activity or experience you have bought a ticket for.
You understand that your participation in events and any related activity conducted by Date in the Diary LTD, is voluntary and at your own risk.
You are aware that exercise can be physically stressful and, in certain instances, can even result in injury or cause death. The levels of exercise that you will perform will be at your own pace, based on your own cardio-respiratory (heart & lung) fitness, muscular strength, and endurance.
You will inform the organisers of any symptoms (e.g., fatigue, shortness of breath, chest discomfort, any pain/discomfort/concern for your safety/benefit) during your participation in exercise related activity.
If you have high blood pressure, diabetes, a heart condition, an existing injury, recent surgery or if you are taking any prescribed medications that could affect your performance, you will inform the organisers prior to participating in any exercise.
For Walks/Hikes:
Participants must wear suitable attire for walking in the likely terrain and prevalent weather conditions which will be stated on the website – if you are unsure, please ask.
Dogs are usually allowed on walks, but this is entirely at the discretion of the organisers. Any dogs joining you on a walk, must be kept under close control at all times and on a lead where necessary or if requested by the organisers. Dog owners have legal responsibility for any incidents caused by their dog and all liability lies with the dog owner.
Participants without dogs should be aware dogs may be present and should take due care and attention accordingly. Any participants who do not feel comfortable around dogs should make this known to the organisers.
Any participants who consume alcohol on an organised event does so entirely at their own risk and DATE IN THE DIARY LTD or its representatives shall not be responsible or liable for the consequences of anyone doing so.
If you have any allergies you will make these known to the organisers prior to any event.
Date in the Diary LTD and it’s representatives will not be liable for any injuries or damage arising out of participation in any activity or social.
It is agreed that Date in the Diary LTD or its representatives shall not be responsible or liable for any articles lost or stolen whilst in attendance of a Date in the Diary event.
Date in the Diary Ltd is also not responsible for providing travel to and from their events. They may from time to time offer to organise transport which you can chose to accept at your own risk. Please take care when travelling, especially if travelling alone, as Date in the Diary Ltd will not be held responsible for any incidents or accidents that happen during any related travel.
For any Date in the Diary event, we will make every effort to ensuring a balanced gender split, however, this cannot be guaranteed.
Date in the Diary Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to offensive, abusive, racist and/ or disruptive behaviour. Should guests display any of the conduct listed above, they will be requested to leave and not be provided a refund. They will also have their membership with us terminated. Date in the Diary works in partnership with venues to enforce the above policy.
In the unlikely event that you suffer injury or damages to yourself, or your personal items, of any kind at one of our events, you agree to release Date in the Diary from any liability.
Date in the Diary Ltd hosts will take photos and/ or videos during events. As part of these terms and conditions, you are providing consent for us to use your images. If you do not want us to use your images, please email lisa@dateinthediary.com to remove consent for us using your images or request approval. Until we have received such consent withdrawal, by agreeing to these terms and conditions you are giving permission to use these images on our website, social media, marketing & PR materials.
Date in the Diary Ltd does not employ its location hosts, our hosts, events consultants, work for us in a freelance capacity. Should you have any issues with any host, please email: lisa@dateinthediary.com. Date in the Diary are not liable for any misconduct associated with it’s consultants.
